Aaron Edwards Jr., born January 24, 1946 in Ocilla, Ga., was the fourth of six children born to the late Aaron Edwards Sr. and Annie L. Edwards (Pie).

After a brief illness, Aaron Jr. departed this life on Wednesday, September 10, 2008. Aaron was affectionately known by family and friends as “Jr.”

Aaron attended Ocilla High & Industrial school in Ocilla.
Shortly after graduation, he moved to Jersey City, NJ where he joined St. John’s Baptist church. He was a faithful member and also served on the Male Chorus.

In December 1965, he was drafted into the United States Army and served until 1971. During his years of service, he received the National Defense Service medal, Vietnam Service medal with Bronze Service Star and the Vietnam Campaign medal. Upon completion of active duty, Aaron received an honorable discharge and returned to the U.S. Postal Services where he was employed for over 35 years and retired in 2004.

He was a lifetime member of the VFW - Post #7470 and was also employed with J&R Transportation for the past 20 years, where he served children with disabilities.

Aaron leaves cherished memories to his love ones:
2 lovely daughters; 2 grandsons;
his mother, Mrs. Annie L. Edwards (Pie) of Ocilla, GA;
3 sisters; 3 brothers.

His companion for many years, Patricia Gales,
Latoya Edwards-Hancock, who he embraced as a daughter,
Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Aaron was instrumental in the upbringing of many of his nieces
