September 6, 1933 - July 13, 2015

Mr. Nichols, 81, Osborn, died Monday, July 13, 2015. He was born at Stockton to James Theodore and Opal Pearl (Bishop) Nichols.

He attended school at Rose Hill and Sand Hill schools in Cedar County before his family moved to Perrin in 1943. He married Mary Lou Cooksey in May 1953 at Plattsburg, Mo. He worked for Everett Quarries as a heavy equipment operator for 51 years before retiring.

Survivors include his wife, Mary of the home; three sons, Darrel Nichols and wife Judy of Stockton, Mike Nichols and wife Judy of Gower, and Jon Nichols of Hamilton; four grandsons; three granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Nichols of Rushville; three sisters, Edna Barnard of Kansas City, Ellen Harris and husband Richard of Raymore and Minnie Asher of Cameron.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Linda Lou Nichols; three brothers; and a sister.

Celebration of life will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday July 19, 2015 at the Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, in Cameron, Mo. A private burial will be at a later date in Gum Springs Cemetery in Stockton, Mo.
