Patsy was a loving wife, mother and sister. Patsy was born June 22, 1949, in Butte, Mont., to Pat and Marge Rooney. She passed away on July 21, 2015, due to a long battle with cancer.
Patsy graduated from Butte High School in 1967. She stayed in Butte and had two boys, Jody Rooney and Chris Schummer. She moved to Elko in 1988, where she met and married her husband of 25 years, Gary Snyder. She started work at Barrick Goldstrike in 1988, and retired from there in 2012.
Patsy loved being with her family, fishing, camping and exploring the United States with her husband.
Patsy is survived by her husband, Gary Snyder; sons, Jody Rooney (Fiancé Pamela Scates) and Chris Schummer; grandkids, Carson and Cameron Rooney, and Timmy, Brittney and Brandy Schummer: sisters, Irene Yelenich, Linda Egbert, Jane (Bob) Schummer, and Carol Kissell; brothers, John (Eyvonne) Rooney, and Jerry (Donna) Rooney; sisters-in-law, Trudy Fleckenstein-Hitchner (Ed), and Lori (Frank) Farris; brothers-in-law, Randy (Gladys) Snyder, Jim (Charlotte) Snyder, and Tim Snyder; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marge Rooney; father, Pat Rooney; mother -in-law, Alice Snyder; father-in-law, Norman Snyder; brothers, Tim Rooney, Ron Rooney and Paul Kissell; and nephew, Jonathan Rooney.
Per Patsy’s request cremation will take place at Burns Funeral Home in Elko, Nev.
As Patsy requested, no services will take place.
