Luna Irene Watson, 99, died July 22, 2015 in Yukon, Oklahoma. She was born October 1, 1915 in Wesley, Arkansas to Elmer and Essie (Sharp) Drake. Luna graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor’s degree in education. She went on to teach in Woodward, Oklahoma and Enid, Oklahoma for many years until she retired.
Luna enjoyed cooking meals and cross stitching. She will also be remembered for having two green thumbs. She loved flowers and gardening. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her as a sweet, caring and godly woman who loved helping others.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rev. Loy L. Watson; and sister, Leta Parker.
Luna is survived by her sons, Lindell Watson and wife Carolyn Sue of Oklahoma City, and Larry Watson and wife Terri of Texas.; brother, Layman Drake of Arkansas; 4 grandchildren, Aaron, Russell, Sara, and Katie; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be Sunday July 26, 2015, 11am-9pm, with family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams. Funeral services will be at 3:00pm, Monday July 27, 2015 at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene in Bethany, OK.
