Louie Emmett Stone, son of Willis & Lydia (Barnhart) Stone, was born on September 20, 1910 in Bynumville, MO. He was the seventh of eight children. The family was living on a farm in Pipestone, MN and Louie was just 6 years old when his mother passed away. His father then settled the family in South Dakota. At a young age, Louie developed a love of horseback riding and he apparently was very good at it. From a local newspaper dated 1921: “In the 54 times the horse "Sir Arthur" was started, it took 47 firsts – with Louie Stone, the young school boy, as the jockey. He may have been young, but he was an excellent rider and horseman."

Louie eventually set out on his own and relocated to Chicago, IL, where he met and married Anna Margaret Wills in 1933. Louie & Ann lived in the Chicago suburbs and they had three children: Robert, Richard, and Lois. Louie operated gasoline service stations in Downers Grove and later in Bradley. In 1956 the family moved to Riviera Beach, FL. Together Louie & Ann owned and operated the Ebb Tide Apartments and the Triangle Paint Company for many years until their retirement in 1977. Louie was an active member of the Riviera Beach Kiwanis Club and the North Palm Beach 60s Softball Team. He was also a Practitioner of the Church of Religious Science.

Louie Stone passed away on September 9, 1994 at the age of 84. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Anna M. Stone; daughter Lois Stone Wiley & husband Joe of West Palm Beach; daughter-in-law Martha Stone Cuthbert & husband Bryan of Palm Beach Gardens; granddaughter Debbie Moore & husband Jim of Hobe Sound; granddaughter Pam Schutzenhoffer & husband Paul of Blairsville, GA; five great-grandchildren; sister Mary Crider of Seattle, WA; brother Everett Stone of Chandler, AZ.

Louie, Ann and their son Richard are buried at Riverside Memorial Park in Tequesta, FL.
