He was the son of William and Rosa Goodall, of Wallrake, Heswall, Cheshire. He was a Lance Corporal and a Signaller in the Cheshire Regiment, 13th Battalion. Service No. W/1208. He was killed in action aged 23 yrs. He is commemorated here on the family grave and is buried in Tancrez Farm Military Cemetery, Hainaut, Belgium. (Find A Grave Memorial# 11507524). This is a different name to the one on the gravestone. I don't know if he was moved or if they changed the name of the cemetery.
