Thomas Jefferson Chipman and Almeda Pennington were married 24-Nov-1880 in Edith, Lauderdale County, TN.

From the Daily Democrat, Greenville, Miss. - W. A. Chipman has been named captain of police of Greenville, Miss., made vacant by the death of Capt. Wm. Quinn. Mr. Chipman was reared in Greenville. (Enterprise Editor - he is the son of the late T. J. Chipman and was born near Ripley May 13, 1885, moved to Greenville eight years ago where he worked hard in his father's log camp until the latter's death in 1903, then became member of the fire department, thence to assistant chief in Feb. 1905. In August 1906 he was promoted to the police force as patrolman, and now as captain.)
