E. Frederick Kelly Sr., 59, of Pittsville died today in Peninsula General Hospital after a prolonged illness.
A rural mail carrier of Pittsville, he was a past state president of the Maryland Rural Letter Carrier Association.
He was a past noble grand of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Salisbury, a state counselor of Junior Order of Mechanics of Maryland, and a member of Wicomico Lodge AF and AM No. 91 of Salisbury. He was a member of the Lodge of Perfection and Rose Croix of Salisbury.
Son of the late John W. and Catherine Lewis Kelly of Powellville, he was a former president of the Pittsville Fire Co. and former superintendent of St. John's Methodist Church, Powellville, for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edith W. Kelly; a son Frederick Kelly Jr. of Pittsville; a sister Mrs. Maude Bradford of Newark, Md.; a brother Henry Kelly of Powellville and several neices and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:30 in St. John's Methodist Church with the Rev. Herbert Gladden, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in the St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Holloway Funeral Home tomorrow after 7:30 p.m. and at the church Saturday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
