Mrs. Sarah Ellen Fox, 66 years old, widow of John R. Fox died at 5:30 o'clock Tuesday evening, at her home in Marion township six miles north of this city. She had been suffering for two years from heart trouble and dropsy, and her condition had been critical for five weeks.
Mrs. Fox was born March 4, 1851 in this county, and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Howery. Her marriage to Mr. Fox took place October 10, 1867. He died December 1, 1912. Four sons Talma, Elbert, Charles and Lee, all of Marion township survive. Mrs. Fox also leaves eight grandchildren and two brothers and a sister: George Howery, Hancock county; John Howery, Spencer County; and Mrs. Sylvia Miller of this county. She had been a member of the Liberty church of Marion township for twenty-five years. She was held in high esteem by a large circle of friends, all of whom will be saddened by her death.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 o'clock at the home, the Rev. H. N. Spear of this city, officiating, and the burial made in Liberty cemetery, in charge of Hendrickson and Sleeth.
