Winnie Robertson dies at age 92

Services for Winnie Robertson, 92, of Rapid City, who died January 3, 1992 at a local nursing home, were held January 7, 1992 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Bishop Vernon Pearson officiated. Burial was at Pine Lawn Memorial Park. A memorial has been established.

She was born November 28, 1899, at Hartington, NE, to John and Cora (Clark) Goeken. She moved to South Dakota in 1907 where she was raised and attended county school at Miranda. She attended beautician school.

She married Kenny Thomas near Miller in 1918. They lived on a farm near Miller until moving to Rockham where she ran a beauty shop in her home. She later moved to Redfield and moved to Rapid City in 1964, where she worked at a local nursing home.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and she enjoyed music.

Surviving are one granddaughter, Marne Thomas, of Moline, IL; and four sisters, Fern Lounsberry, of Redfield; Marie Oxwang, of Goldendale, WA; Gladys Duboise, of Spearfish; and Bethyne Goeken, of Yankton.

She was preceded in death by two sons, one grandson, one brother and one sister.
