James Hambleton Moore, Sr., died at his country home north of Waverly, Ohio, Monday December the fourth at one thirty o'clock p.m. Mr. Moore had been ill for some time with organic heart trouble, but it was not until June that serious symptoms developed, at which time he went to Grant Hospital in Columbus with hope that the heart specialists there might benefit him, but he gradually declined until his death yesterday. Mr. Moore was born in Ravenswood, West Virginia, October 6th 1849. He was the oldest son of Hambleton Moore and Maria Clark Moore and a great grandson of Judge Thomas Scott, one of the early Judges of the Ohio Supreme Court of this State. He was admitted to the bar in 1888 and practiced law until 1901 in Chillicothe, Ohio. In that year he removed to his farm north of Waverly where he has resided ever since. He was married at Chillicothe, Ohio, to Letitia McNeill daughter of John R. and Mary Davis McNeill, who were residents of this county for many years. Eight children were born to them all of whom are still living. They are: Mrs. C.K. Patterson, Mrs. Charles R. Patterson of Piketon, Mrs. Harry E. Weaver of Ostrander, Mrs. Earl G. _____ of Lucasville, Bessie D. Moore of Dayton, and James H. Jr., Charles McNeill and Daniel Stoll who reside with their parents. He is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. W.C. Patterson and Miss Katherine S. Moore of Los Angeles, and H.F. Moore of Crokett, Texas. Five grandchildren also survive. Mr. Moore was a member of all the Masonic organizations of Chillicothe, including Commandery No. 8 Knight Templars with which he has been affiliated since 1871. Mr. Moore was all his life deeply interested in politics and was actively associated with the Democratic party. The funeral services were held from his residence Wednesday morning at nine thirty o'clock. The burial was at Grandview Cemetery in Chillicothe and was in charge of the Knights Templars.

JAMES H. MOORE, son of Hambleton and Maria (Clark) Moore, was born in Virginia in 1849. When a child his parents removed to Iowa County, Iowa, and located the town of Millersburg, named at his father's suggestion. His father built the first mill in that neighborhood. At the commencement of the civil war Mr. Moore came to Ohio and located in Portsmouth. He was for ten years ticket agent for the M. & C. Railroad at Chillicothe. He is now living on a fine farm of 300 acres, a mile north of Waverly. In 1876 he married Lutitia McNeil, a daughter of a distinguished pioneer, both parents now deceased. They have three children - Maria, Bessie Davis and James Hambleton, Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Moore are members of the Methodist Episcopal church. Mr. Moore's father died in 1871, his mother is still living.
