Harold was born on October 14, 1947 in Liberty, KS to Ethel P. (Baysinger) Lingenfelter and Roy Lingenfelter both of Gridley, KS.

Harold graduated from Olpe High School in 1965 and began serving in the U.S. Army on May 3rd, 1966. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat infantryman Badge, and two Purple Hearts. He was honorably discharged on May 2nd, 1968.
He was married to Linda S. Baldridge on October 12, 1968 at Messiah Lutheran in Emporia, KS. They have two children, Roy T. Lingenfelter and Kathleen R. (Lingenfelter) Smith, still living and three grandchildren, Natalie S. Lingenfelter, Linus G. Lingenfelter and Dexter E. Lingenfelter. Harold was a carpenter for many years, an avid fisherman, and an infamous jokester/prankster. His love of trees and nature is well known by those who are close to him. Harold was a caring and generous man who touched many lives.

Harold is survived by two sisters, Viola Odgers of Salina, KS and Mary Johnson of South Carolina; two brothers, Richard Lingenfelter of Miller, KS and Roy Dale Lingenfelter of Emporia; and countless nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dean Lingenfelter of Emporia.
His funeral service will be held at the Allen Methodist church, 521 Grimsley, Allen, KS on Friday, July 10th at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations, made in Harold’s name, may be made to Voluntary Services for the VA Hospital, 2200 SW Gage Blvd, Topeka, KS 66622.
