Edna M. Morgan, 88, of South Salem, died January 9, 2015 at the Bonaventure Senior Living Facility. She was born April 13, 1926 in Calgary Alberta, Canada to the late Allen and Beatrice (Smith) Schofield. Their family moved to the Portland area in 1927, then to Salem when she was still very young.

In 1941 she rescued a young girl, after the girl had fallen into Pringle Creek just a short distance from the Schofield home. Edna went all through her school years in Salem graduating from Salem High School. She was always proud to be part of the class of 1944. She attended all her class of '44 reunions and many monthly luncheons throughout the years. These were truly life long friends. The class of 1944 just celebrated their amazing 70 year class reunion this last summer.

She met and fell in love with Earl K. Morgan during their high school years. When Earl went into the service and went off to war (WWII) she wrote him constantly, not missing many opportunities to send him her support. Upon his return from the war they built their first home in South Salem on Madrona Ave. They got married in the living room of that home on December 12, 1947.

She started her working career at a local real estate office eventually becoming a Realtor, then Broker and then became a partner of the Real Estate Mart. She became a well known and respected professional in the Salem community due to her personality, professionalism and work ethic. She sold homes to many families in her 45 years of service and was proud of the many referrals and repeat customers that built her business into such a success. She was well known and specialized in selling many of the homes in the Sunnyridge Heights subdivision in South Salem. Earl joined her at the Real Estate Mart as a Realtor after building custom homes in Salem for many years. They both retired in 1990. Even after her retirement she continued to have many of the families she served call on her for advice.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Earl K. Morgan in 2007, three brothers and one sister.

She is survived by one daughter Melody (Jerry) Wilson of Salem, one son Monte (Kathy) Morgan, DMD of Salem, one brother Murray Schofield, of Redding, CA, one granddaughter Kylie (Doug) Ecclestone of Spokane, WA and one grandson Corbin Morgan of Salem, OR and many nieces and nephews.
