William Stewart, 55, died Tuesday morning at Community Hospital, Long Beach, Calif. Born in Greenwood, he was a son of Mrs. Blanche Lowery Stewart of Greenwood and the late R. Jack Stewart. He was a construction worker, a World War II veteran and a member of Masonic Lodge No. 358, A.F.M. Surviving are his mother; bis wife, Mrs. Margaret Aughtrey Stewart; a son, Michael Stewart of Portland, Ore.; a sister, Mrs. Virginia Fagan of Greenwood; three grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Panola United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ernest Pruitt, the Rev,. Horace Sims and the Rev. Franklin McCoy officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jack and Wilburn McCoy, Jack Gregory, Thomas Hughes, Dean Butler and Henry Suddeth. The body is at Harley Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Thursday. - The family is at the home of his sister, Mrs. Virginia Fagan, 89 Third St. and the home of his mother, Mrs. Blanche Stewart, 70 Third St.
