Robert is survived by his wife, Peggy, sons Robert, Jr., Kevin, David and Brian, daughters Christina and Stephanie.
Robert was born October 7, 1953 at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii to Benjamin and Lucia (Gomez) Ilac. He graduated from San Lorenzo High School in 1972, where he lettered in Varsity Track. After graduating he married his high school sweetheart Peggy Lynn Bryant and joined the United States Army as an Infantry Solider.
During his time, from 1972 to 1982, in the military he was stationed at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii, Fort Riley in Kansas, Fort Ord in California, Korea and other locations. After an honorable discharge from the active military in 1983, he joined the California Air Force National Guard where he retired as an SSGT. He was accredited for over 21 years of military service.
He continued his career as a public servant working for the Federal Reserve Bank in San Francisco, Ca., Federal Police Officer at Tracy Army Defense Depot, and served as a security guard at Hotel Hampton Inn, Doctors Hospital, and Stanislaus District Attorney's Office.
In between his many jobs he was a lunch supervisor and basketball, football, wrestling and track coach at Prescott Junior High School. His hobbies included spending time golfing, riding motorcycles, and bowling.
Robert requested to be cremated. Services will take place on Friday, July 24, 2015 at 1:30 pm at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella, CA.
