Mr. Kelly was a graduate of Auburn University and served in the U.S. Navy. A native of Madison County, he was a farmer and a former president of the Madison County chapter of the Alabama Cattlemans Association. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and spent over 40 years as an Amateur Radio operator, his true passion.
Mr. Kelly was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Floyd Kelly. Survivors include his sons Josh O. Kelly, III and wife Melissa Kelly Helton, Matthew Russell Kelly and wife Amelia Harper Kelly and grandsons Connor Russell Kelly and Sean Matthew Kelly.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am Wednesday at Maple Hill Cemetery with Dr. Blair Waddell, Rev. Brian Milby and Pastor Joel McGraw officiating.
