A U.S.Air Force veteran,served for 27 years,(retired)World War 2 Korea and Vietnam,and an-ex-prisoner of war,On his 42nd B-17 bombing mission in World War 2,McKnight parachuted into enemy territory when his aircraft was set ablaze by anti-aircraft fire,he was held for eighteen months in a German prison camp,he was awarded the Purple Heart.his wife of 62 years;Alice Anne Rooker McKnight,a son;James Patrick McKnight,a daughter;Vickie Gwen Blue,2 granddaughters,and a great-granddaughter.
