Louise Spencer Cunningham age 92 of Scottsboro, AL formerly of Winchester, passed away July 26, 2013 at Highlands Health and Rehab. On May 1, 1921 the late Newt and Villa Spencer welcomed one of their seven children to the world Thelma Louise Spencer. She married the love of her life James Robert Cunningham. She was a faithful member of Mable Plains Baptist Church until her health failed her. For peace of mind Ms. Cunningham made sure her family was taken care of. She had a passion for sewing and cooking. Ms. Cunningham is preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Cunningham; parents, Newt and Villa Spencer; brother, Tommy Spencer and sister, Josephine Stewart Cleek. She is survived by her son, Don (Cheryl) Cunningham of Scottsboro, AL; grandchildren, Markita (Robbie) Talley, James (Jessica) Cunningham and Nathan Cunningham; great-granddaughter, Isabella Cunningham; brother, Rev. J.D. (Bobbie) Spencer of Winchester; sisters, Jewel Spencer Cyree of Manchester, Irene Clark and Lois Armstrong both of Winchester; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted Sunday, July 28, 2013 at 2:30pm from the chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home with Bro. Jack Hice and Bro. Johnny Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Watson-North Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, James Robert Cunningham. Visitation will be Saturday, July 29, 2013 from 5-8pm at Watson-North Funeral Home.
