Mrs. Crawford was born September 3, 1934 in Youngstown, a daughter of Robert and Alice Dressel Mills.
A lifelong resident of Youngstown, Sally was a 1952 graduate of South High School. She attended the Youngstown Hospital Association School of Nursing and received her degree in nursing. Mrs. Crawford worked as a registered nurse for Southside Hospital, until becoming a dedicated wife and mother.
A woman of deep faith, Sally was a longtime member of the former Foster Memorial Church in Youngstown. There she would marry the love of her life, Duane R. Crawford, on June 22, 1956, and raise their three children in the church. Upon the church's closing, she and Duane joined Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church.
A dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, Sally centered her life and home around family. Nothing made her happier than to have her home filled with her grandchildren and family. A wonderful homemaker, Sally enjoyed cooking and baking. She will always be remembered as a caring and kind hearted woman who was always the first to ask if anyone needed her help.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Duane; her daughter, Susanne Pilch of Howland; two sons, Robert Crawford of Struthers and David (Cindy) Crawford of North Canton; three grandchildren, Matthew Pilch and Amanda and Brennen Crawford; two sisters, Betty (Joseph) Berarducci of Colorado Springs and Donna (John) Rogers of Tallmadge; a brother, Robert (Connie) Mills of Austintown; and many special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her grandson, Bryan Pilch.
