David A. Heckman, 68, of Upper Burrell Township, died Friday, July 14, 2006. He was born April 19, 1938, in Upper Burrell, where he lived his entire life. Mr. Heckman was a truck driver for Swank Construction for 35 years, retiring in 2001. He was a life member of the Upper Burrell Fire Department, a trustee of the New Kensington Eagles, and a social member of the VFW in Lower Burrell. He attended the Natrona Heights Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed hunting and camping. He is survived by stepchildren, Terry (Ronald) Glock, of Fishers, Ind., and Emily (Chris) Ploski, Guy (Lynn) Tocco and John Illinsky, all of New Kensington; six stepgrandchildren; siblings, Richard Heckman, of Florida, Jane Deiseroth, of Lower Burrell, and Connie and Lola; his companion, Emily Heckman, of New Kensington; and best friend, Frank (Kerry) Riley, of Washington Township. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Kimberly Heckman. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. The Eagles will assemble in the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Monday, followed by the Upper Burrell firemen at 8 p.m.
