Marie Ruth Wagner Baldwin
July 23-1960 - July 20, 2015

Marie Ruth Wagner Baldwin was born in Wellington, Colorado, the third child of Lee and Ruth Wagner. Marie had a wonderful, adventurous life growing up on the family farm raising lambs on a bottle, feeding chickens, gathering eggs--which she hated because of the mean chickens. She tried helping her Mom butcher and dress them but was not up to the task. Marie was an active member of 4-H with rabbits, cakes and Angus cattle as projects. Like her father, she was always a gardener at heart and had large vegetable plots from which she collected produce and took into Farmer's Markets, fostering a lifelong love of agriculture.

Marie attended grade school and Junior High School in Wellington, Colorado. She graduated from Poudre High School in Fort Collins, Colorado in 1978. Afterwards, she attended Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado, and the University of Wyoming. In 1983 she graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Agriculture. With her brand new degree, she got a job with the State of Arizona, at a produce inspection station in Sanders, Arizona. That was where she met Tom Baldwin, who was destined to become her husband on May 5, 1985. Marie and Tom moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where they had their only child, daughter Maleesa Rose.

Marie took a job in San Antonio, Texas and moved there in 2001 with husband Tom, where she lived for the remainder of her life. She was blessed with the recent birth of granddaughter Aurora Rose Foreside, the child of Maleesa and her husband Brandon.

Marie was a very active and faithful member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church, first in Wellington and in each location in which she lived. She lived a life rich in the Glory of our Lord, singing with local gospel groups, serving the homeless, and protecting stray cats and dogs.

Marie was preceded in death by her father, Lee Wagner. She is survived by her mother, Ruth Wagner-Haake, still living in Wellington, Colorado; two siblings, her husband, a daughter, and granddaughter.

Marie's family and friends will greatly miss her, but rest assured that she is with our Lord in His heavenly kingdom.
