She died and in August 1874 he married Martha Coffee and they moved to Tennessee where their daughter, Susan Ann, was born in 1875. Then to Texas, where George Anderson was born in 1878. In 1880, they were in Cass County, TX with Susan and George. Another son was born in 1880. In 1883, a son was born in Versailles, Morgan County, Missouri. Susan & George died in 1884.
In 1886 they were back in Texarkana, where two daughters and another son were born.
John died in 1893 in Texarkana, AR. He was preceded in death by Susan Ann & George Anderson in 1884.
Survivors include his wife, Martha; two daughters, Gracie Lee and Ida May; three sons, William Robert, James Richard and John Allen Morris Edmon all of Texarkana; a brother, George Washington Edmon of Missouri; and a number of nieces and nephews and a half-sister, Samantha Jane Moore-Rhinehart of Tennessee.
