Mr. Stephens was a typesetter with the News Reporter for twenty years. He was employed with Pierce & Co., Council Tool Co. and Quality Ford. He also formerly co-owned and operated Ted & Mac’s later known as J and Mac's in Whiteville.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Dubois Stephens; a son, Bo Stephens and wife, Candace of Wilmington; two daughters, Christy Williamson and husband, Jonathan of Clayton, Michelle Marshburn and husband, Bryan of Apex; grandchildren, Brayden Stephens, Cade Stephens, Charlie Williamson, Blake Ashley, Sara Marshburn; a sister, Betty Rose Hobbs and husband, James of Holden Beach; a stepsister, Macie Sutcliff Dewitt of Hallsboro; a stepbrother, Bill Sutcliff of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles “Charlie” Stephens.
His funeral servvice will be 2:00 pm Friday, July 24, 2015 at Hallsboro Baptist Church by Rev. Scott Lewis and Rev. Bobby Phillips. Burial will be in Lake Waccamaw Hillcrest Cemetery.
