Naomi E. Young, 83, born January 31, 1921 went to be with the Lord December 23, 2004.
She was a resident of Claremont Manor Care Center. She was born Naomi Esther Coyle in El Paso, Illinois, the sixth of eight children. She graduated from El Paso Union High School in 1939. Later that year, she moved to Bloomington, Ill. for employment at the home office of State Farm Mutual Insurance Company.
In 1941 she met Robert W. Young whom she married in May 1942. They moved to Pomona, CA in 1948, to Montclair in 1951, and then to Mt. Baldy in January 1957, where they resided until January 1995.
She was employed for 23 years as assistant post master of the Mt. Baldy Village post office. For over 50 years, she served her Lord through the Pomona First Church of God and the Mt. Baldy Community Church. She was a founding member of the Church of God's Couple's Club, a member of The Women of the Church of God, Gideon's International Auxiliary and a faithful supporter of various international missions ministries.
She was preceded in death by Robert W. Young, her husband of 58 years.
She is survived by son, Robert O. Young of Upland; daughters, Susan D. Nakamoto of Claremont and Deborah A. Jenness of Anderson, Indiana. Also survived by grandsons, Matthew Young of Fontana, CA, Robert Young of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; granddaughters, Aubyn Redmond of Sunnyvale, CA, Stephanie Young of Fullerton, CA, Wren White of Sunnyvale, CA; Breanna Rutherford of S an Diego, CA and Claire Jenness of Anderson, IN; grandson, Austin Jenness of Anderson, IN; granddaughter Keeley Nakamoto of Claremont, CA; grandson, Jared Jenness of Anderson, IN; and great-granddaughter, Bridget Redmond of Sunnyvale, CA.
