Reinhold Arnold Goehring Jr. age 87, of Mitchell, SD (formerly of Delmont, SD) died Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Firesteel Healthcare Center.

Reinhold A. Goehring Jr., son of Reinhold Goehring Sr. and Lydia Pressler, was born February 21, 1928 in Hosmer, SD and was baptized in the Reformed Church. He moved with his family when he was six years old to the family farm by Delmont, SD and was confirmed in the Reformed Church in Tripp, SD. Reiny attended country school through the 8th grade and attended Armour High School and received his GED while in the service. He entered the US Army on June 13, 1951 and served in the Korean War with the B Battery 780th Field Artillery. He served on the front lines and received two Bronze Service Stars and the United Nations Service Medal. Reiny was honorably discharged on March 16, 1953 as a sergeant first class.

Reiny returned home and farmed with his father and brother, LeRoy. In 1964 he was united in marriage with Barbara Bergquist in Armour, SD. To his marriage the couple had three children; Elmer, Diane and Chris. Reiny loved hunting and all his farm animals, especially his Hereford cattle. Barbara died in 1987 and Reiny was united in marriage with Carol (Ebright) Schmidt in 1990 at Zion Lutheran Church in Mitchell. He retired from farming in 1991 and moved to Mitchell. While in Mitchell, he worked at various jobs and then drove truck for Commercial Asphalt for 12 years. He liked to watch Minnesota Twins baseball games and play cards.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mitchell and the Delmont American Legion and VFW of Armour.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Carol Goehring, Mitchell, SD; two sons, Elmer (Kayleen) Goehring, Delmont, SD, Chris (Melissa Moyer) Goehring, Baltic, SD; and a daughter, Diane Dahl, Sioux Falls, SD; five grandchildren; four step children, Ronald (Julie) Schmidt, Sioux Falls, SD, James (Myla) Schmidt, Parkston, SD, Kent (Brenda) Schmidt, Colorado Springs, CO, Cheryl (Greg) Godfrey, Lexington Park, MD; nine step grandchildren; two brothers, LeRoy (Violet) Goehring, Delmont, SD, Jerald (Donna) Goehring, Dakota Dunes, SD; three sisters, Lucilla Dewald, Tripp, SD, Laverna Simpfenderfer, Lodi, CA, Arvilla Reich, Tracy, CA; a brother-in-law, Marvin Ebright, Delmont, SD; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara in 1987; his parents and a grandson, Clay McManus.
