Born Feb. 22, 1957, she was the daughter of William and Margherita Sorina Donath, Chinchilla. She was employed as an outreach coordinator at Scranton Primary Health Care Center Inc. and was a member of the board of directors at St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen. She was a graduate of Abington Heights High School and Penn State University, where she earned a degree in psychology.
She was especially grateful for being allowed to attend to the needs of the guests of St. Francis Kitchen. She enjoyed preparing wonderful meals for family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening and will be remembered for her beautiful perennial gardens, floral planters and the magnificent flowers on her decks.
During her illness, she was thankful for her husband, Danny, who lovingly and respectfully cared for her, along with her family and wonderful friends, Thom, Debbie E., Tracey, Fran, Alan, Karen and Nannette; and cousin, Caroline. They were all blessed to have her with them for 51 years.
Also surviving are a son, Ryan Donath Hughes, at home; a sister, Leslie Donath Graham, her husband, Michael, and their children, Zachary, Michael and Alexa Margherita; her aunt and godmother, Jean Depietro; aunts and uncles, Frank Sorino; Eleanor and Stephen Sepkowski; Norma Sorino; and Joseph and Herbert Donath; a sister-in-law, Kathy Kahanowitz; a brother-in-law, Gerald Hughes; nieces, nephews and many cousins.
