Musician."Big Al" Downing began his career as a pianist and back up singer for Wanda Jackson and Bobby Poe's band.He played on Jackson's biggest recording entitled "Let's Have a Party" released in 1960 it was a enormous success reaching the top 40 on the pop chart. In 1975,he recorded the song "I'll Be Holdin On" which topped the disco charts .He had a string of country hits including "Bring It On Home," "Let's Sing About Love," "There'll Never Be a Better Night For Being Wrong," "Touch Me" and "Mr.Jones." In 2000,Downing was inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame .
