Bettye Lou Crowell Johnson, 76, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at her home in Memphis, TN. She was born on November 20, 1938 in Jackson, TN to Eddie Joe Crowell and Lela Jewell Murchison Crowell. Bettye grew up in Jackson, graduating from J.B. Young High School. She attended Methodist School of Nursing in Memphis, graduating in 1958. She had a long career with Methodist Hospital. Her husband, Joseph G. Johnson, Jr. preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Kathy Adams (Andy), Beth Rasberry (James), and Lea Tibbs (Richard); her grandchildren, Joseph and Bethany Tibbs and Abby Welch (Wesley) and her sister, Barbara Brewer (Earl.) She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 24 at 2 p.m., with visitation occurring at 1 p.m. all at Forest Hill Funeral Home East 2440 Whitten Rd.
