Golfer, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Hazel Elizabeth Parker Simpson, passed away on July 19, 2015.

Born December 29, 1918 in Bennion to Herbert Parker and Mable Matteson. She was the second child with four brothers and one sister.

Hazel married E. Earl Simpson on July 24 in Nevada; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They have two children, Erlynn and Earl, ten grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mom worked hard all her life. She was a bacteriologist for U&I Sugar until the West Jordan factory closed. She helped many young girls learn to play golf. Hazel was Champion Golfer, winning two Salt Lake Tournaments (The City Parks and the Schubach). She was her golf club champion for twenty-two years.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Ronald, Dale, Warren, and Ross; sister, Delma; and her dear friend, Leonard Swanson.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road (1700 West), where a viewing will be held prior from 11:00-11:45 a.m.
Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates.
