VISITATION: From 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2015 with a Parish Rosary held at 3:30 p.m. and a Parish Vigil at 7:00 p.m. at Pfannebecker Funeral Home in Denison, Iowa

Pamela Gardner was born at Fort Benning Army Base, Georgia, April 14, 1945, the daughter of Michael and Virginia Downing Stern. She was baptized in Sioux City, Iowa, May 2, 1945, and later confirmed in her Catholic Faith at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Perry, Iowa. Her father’s work took them to several communities during her formative years including North Dakota, Kansas. In 1963 the family moved to Perry, Iowa, where she graduated from high school with the class of 1963. She furthered her education at Woodward State Hospital where she received her Certified Medication Aid training and was employed there for three years. Pam then moved to Hartley, Iowa, where she raised her family for twenty years before moving to Denison.

On May 14, 1994, Pam was united in marriage with Richard Gardner at Denison, Iowa. They made their home in Denison where was employed in the nursing and activities departments at Eventide Lutheran Home for 13 years, IBP for two years and Landscape Unlimited for 2 years. She retired in 2007 to care for her husband who suffered from Alzheimer’s.

In her leisure time she enjoyed camping, sewing and crafts, raising her pets and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison where she and Richard renewed their wedding vows in 2006. Pam greatly enjoyed assisting with the RCIA classes at St. Rose for over five years.

Richard died November 14, 2012 and following his death Pam moved to Round Hill, Virginia where she made her home with her daughter Becky and husband Toney Simms.
Pam died Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, Virginia. At the time of her death she had been blessed with 70 years, 3 months and 7 days.

Pamela was preceded in death by her step-father and mother, Jack and Virginia King, her husband Richard Gardner and one grandson Andrew Larson.

Those remaining to cherish her memory include children: Bradley Lorenzen of Denison, IA, Ginny Larson and husband Keith of Schleswig, IA, Becky Bobzien-Simms and husband Toney of Round Hill, VA, Michele Muhlbauer and husband Rob of Vail, IA, Glen Bobzien and special friend Alice Kenney of Boone, IA, Gary Bobzien of Prior Lake, MN, Gene Bobzien of Hartley, IA, Ronda Bobzien and spouse Loraine Epperly of Lincoln, NE, Chris Meyer and husband Darwin of Denison, IA, Char Gardner of Carroll, IA, Cyndi Hansohn and husband Mark of Deloit, IA; 21 grandchildren,17 great grandchildren; special long time friends Marsha Hagaman of Ute, Iowa, and Shawn McGinn Lamaak of Fort Dodge, Iowa, other relatives and friends

Pamela Gardner, 70 of Round Hill, Virginia, formerly of Denison, died Tuesday, July 21, at Purcellville, Virginia.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison with burial at the Ute Cemetery.
The Pfannebecker Funeral Home in Denison is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be at the Pfannebecker Funeral Home in Denison from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 27, with a Parish Rosary at 3:30 p.m. and Parish Vigil at 7 p.m.
Survivors include 11 children, Bradley Lorenzen and Chris Meyer, both of Denison, Ginny Larson, of Schleswig, Becky Bobzien-Simms, of Round Hill, Virginia, Michele Muhlbauer, of Vail, Glen Bobzien, of Boone, Gary Bobzien, of Prior Lake, Minnesota, Gene Bobzien, of Hartley, Ronda Bobzien, of Lincoln, Nebraska, Char Gardner, of Carroll, and Cyndi Hansohn, of Deloit; 21 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
