A cellist and patron of the arts, Warburg studied music in Paris and Vienna, where he debuted as a cello soloist. He debuted in New York in 1927 with the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. Warburg served as president of the City Center and was instrumental in preventing the destruction of Carnegie Hall.
