Note 2 - Charles had seven known siblings. Only he and sister Mary Jane Rowley Eddy (1845-1927) survived to adulthood. Mary Jane was buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Birmingham, Oakland Co., Michigan along with many family members.
Note 3 - Charles's mother was born Mary Ann Utter (1821-1877) to John C. Utter and Polly Dimon. Mary Ann was Hezekiah Rowley's 2nd wife. His first wife, Clarissa Ann anthony (1806-1839) died young. She gave birth to eight children; however only two lived to adulthood: Joseph Anthony Rowley and David Hezekiah Rowley.

C.M. Rowley Dies in Minneapolis
Former Well Known Port Huron Man Passes Away on Sunday
Charles M. Rowley, a former well-known resident of this city, died at this home in Minneapolis on Saturday. The remains will be brought to the city and taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. R. F. Simpson [Isabelle w/o Robert Francis Simpson], 1606 Sixth Street. The funeral announcement will be made later.
Mr. Rowley, together with his family resided in Port Huron for many years, but moved to Minneapolis some time ago.
Mr. Rowley was well known as a traveling man and for many years called on the trade in Michigan. He is survived by a widow, two sons and two daughters as follows: Bruce Rowley, Charles B Rowley, Miss Maud Rowley, and Mrs. R. F. Simpson.
The news of Mr. Rowley’s death was received in this city on Sunday but no particulars were given.
