Funeral services for Kayla Mae King, age 17, of Oakland, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, in Oakland Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Don McCormick, the Rev. Richard Methvin and the Rev. Gabe McCormick officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk.

Ms. King died Oct. 9, 2009, in a Tyler hospital. She was born Sept. 29, 1992, in Temple to Ricky Don and Lynnette Jan King. She was a member of Junction City Baptist Mission in Junction City, La.

She was preceded in death by her sister. Kristin Bell King Harris Oct. 4, 2009. She is survived by her father, Ricky Don King of Jena, La.; mother, Lynnette King of Ada, Okla.; sister, Kasey Jo King of Ada, Okla.; nephew, Hagen Don Harris of Oakland; niece, Kaylee Lynn Harris of Oakland; grandparents, Tony and Jo King of Oakland, Sue Talpas of Ada, Okla., John Talpas of Harker Heights; uncles and aunts, Tammy Talpas of Austin, Randy and Sherry King of Oakland, Tim and Mellissa King of Rusk, Dale King of Oakland; numerous cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will include Tim King, Randy King, Dale King, Timmy King, Don Wayne Moore and Bill Bowman. Honorary pallbearers will be Erick Warren, Jaylon Bolton, Harley Tucker, Austin Powell, Cody Smith and Jeremy Brown.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, at the funeral home.
