Sandra Lucile (Lulu) Newton Irvin was born in San Antonio, Texas to Joyce and Carlos B. Newton, Sr., on June 14, 1956. She entered eternity on July 15, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. Her loving devotion to family and steadfast belief in Christ, was ever present and ultimately gave her peace. She passed away at home with her beloved husband Fred Irvin, Jr. and son, Gary Barnes Jr. She graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1974. She and Fred married on April 9, 2002. Lulu was a loving wife and devoted mother. She served the community while working as a Home Health provider with Visiting Angels until her retirement, due to her illness. She was preceded in death by her father, Carlos B Newton, Sr., brothers, Carlos B. Newton Jr., John K. and Larry J. Newton, sisters, Sylvia Garner and Mary C. Newton. She is survived by her husband, Fred Irvin Jr., son, Gary Barnes, Jr., grand-daughter, Cheyenne Barnes, mother, Joyce Newton, sister, Valencia and a host of loving nieces and nephews.A rosary service will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 from 5-8 pm at Lewis Funeral Home.Funeral services will be held at St Gerard Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 11 am.Interment will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
