Ray F. Culver, 93, Overland Park, Kan., passed away, Saturday, July 18, 2015. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at Bristol Hill United Methodist Church with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Ray was born in Bates County, Mo. He was an Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII. He worked as a school teacher and airplane mechanic prior to his military service. After graduating from MU, he worked as a county extension agent, as a farm building and equipment salesman, and later as a real estate specialist for the Army Corps of Engineers, retiring in 1987. Ray married Ferne Baker on April 10, 1960. They were members of Bristol Hill UMC and were avid campers. She passed away March 23, 2008. Survivors include his son, David (Tammy) Culver, Overland Park, and daughter, Sheri Sheldon, Shawnee, Kan.; sister, Maxine Young, Butler, Mo., and four grandchildren, Jamie (Tyler) Cindrich, Kaila Sheldon (Ryan Caryl), Joshua Culver (Kaytie Oleson), and Jared Sheldon.
