Eleanor M. Tucker died on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at The Dwelling Place at St. Clare’s Hospital/Dover. She was 80.
Born in Morristown to the late George and Helen Carey, and raised in Boonton, she lived in the Indian Lake section of Denville for 47 years before moving to Ledgewood in 2005.
Mrs. Tucker worked in administration at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville for over 20 years before retiring.
She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Denville, and a member of the Boonton High School Reunion Club.
She was predeceased by her brother, Eugene Carey and her sister, Rose Chapman.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she leaves her husband of 57 years, Donald G.; five children: Loreen (& Kenneth) Lum, Lynn Orozco, Tim (& Sharon) Tucker, Leeann Tucker-Claffey (& Patrick Claffey), Eileen (& Bill) Danielson; and seven grandchildren: Matthew, Kerry and Nicholas Lum, Elizabeth, Patrick and Kelly Tucker and Kinlee Danielson.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 27th at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 15 Myers Ave, Denville NJ 07834. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Wootton St, Boonton NJ 07005.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Whitham-Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave, Rockaway NJ 07866.
Flowers are welcome, but for those who wish, donations may be made in Mrs. Tucker’s name to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org). Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
