Gerald 'Jerry' Peters, 81, passed away on July 19, 2015. He was born in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, and moved with his parents to Silver Spring, Maryland, as a teen. Following high school graduation he served in the U.S. Army. In 1958 he married his wife, Judy, and together they raised their three children. They moved to St. Augustine in 1974 where he continued his employment with WEDCO, Inc. Jerry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy; sons, Alan and Gary (Lori); daughter, Lynn (Robert); granddaughters, Nanci, Kaylee, Kristal, Sarah and Alayna; and great-grandson, Landen, as well as his extended family and friends who will miss him. Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Johns Family Funeral Home with Pastor Pat Turner-Sharpton, First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be private at Jacksonville National Cemetery at a later date. St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
