Mrs. Lorine Hicks, 76, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at her home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, at St. James United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ralph Steele as officiant and eulogist. Burial will follow at Doris Miller Memorial Park.
Lorine was born in Mooresville, Texas, the third child of the late Rev. Andrew and Gilberta Long Gooden.
Preceding her in death was her first husband, Aaron Black; sister, Dorothy Faye Reed; and son by marriage, Lewis Hicks Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Lewis Hicks Sr.; sons, Aaron D. Black Sr. and wife, Janet, of Denver, Sedrick L. Hicks Sr. and wife, Dewann, of Fort Worth, Illya V. Hicks Sr. and wife, Casmin, of College Station; brothers, James Gooden and wife, Ethel Mae, of Waco, Andrew and wife, Ruth, of El Cerito, Calif., Milton Gooden and wife, Angie, of Dallas, Alton Gooden and wife, Marilyn, of Wichita Falls, Dalton Gooden and wife, Alberta, of Waco; two sons and seven daughters through marriage; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.
