SPRINGFIELD - Carol Jean Burnett, 45, of Springfield passed away at 11:10 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born on Sept. 28, 1962, in Springfield, the daughter of Earl and Jean Strayer Stites. She married Jeffery A. Burnett on July 24, 1982.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kyleigh Burnett.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Ashleigh (husband, John) Knudson of Rochester; a grandchild, Kadyn Knudson; her parents; a sister, Terri (husband, Paul) Walker of Riverton; a brother, Mark (wife, Diana) Stites of Hoover, Ala.; her grandmother, Helen Stites of Springfield; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Carol was a lifelong resident of Springfield. She owned and operated Carol Co., a cleaning and organizing company. She was a member of Elks Ladies Lodge 158 and Hoot Owls bowling league. She also enjoyed sewing.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
