Mrs. William Ahrens, 69, of Rt. 2, Two Rivers, died Monday evening at Manitowoc County Hospital where she had been a patient for more than a year.
Funeral services will be at 1:15 p.m. Thursday at Klein and Stangel Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers, the Rev. William Harvey, rector of St. James Episcopal Church, Manitowoc, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery (sic), Two Rivers.
Mrs. Ahrens, nee Jermima Davies, was born Feb. 15, 1899, at Rhinelander, a daughter of the late Edgar and Augusta Kemnow Davies. After teaching in elementary schools in Vilas and Oneida counties, she continued her profession in New York state. She was married April 2, 1923, to William Ahrens. A year later the couple moved to Manitowoc and in 1937 to the Town of Two Rivers where they operated a fruit farm.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Frederic, of Madison; a sister, Mrs. Arnold Knutsen, of Rhinelander; a brother, William, of Seattle, Wash., and a granddaughter.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
