JEAN AHRENS

Jean M. Ahrens, age 78, of 10926 Meadow Drive, Two Rivers, entered into eternal life on Wednesday morning, Aug. 23, 2006, at the Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot, with the Rev. John Neuser officiating, with burial in the Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.

Jean was born March 24, 1928, to the late Roland and Florence Lehman Raatz, and has been a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of the Washington High School in Two Rivers with the class of 1945. She later attended Marquette University. She married John N. "Jack" Ahrens on May 1, 1948, in Two Rivers. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot. Jean enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include her loving husband: Jack; two daughters: Nona Pravechek, of Manitowoc; Nancy Ahrens and her husband Bob Fromm, of Mishicot; six grandchildren: Blas, Rafael, and Leela Garcia; Victoria and Aaron Pravechek, and John Fromm. She is further survived by one brother and sister-in-law: John "Jack" and Mary Jane Raatz, of Two Rivers; one sister and brother-in-law: June and Leo Bugler, of Manitowoc; and by her brothers-in-law: Gene (Monica)Ahrens, of Sheboygan; Allan Grall, of Algoma; nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a sister-in-law: Jo Ann Grall.

Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home in Mishicot with a concluding prayer service led by the Rev. Sonia Alvarado. Visitation will continue after 10 a.m. on Saturday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot, until the time of service at 11 a.m. A memorial fund has been established in her name.

The Ahrens family wishes to extend a very special thank you to the Mishicot Ambulance Service, the entire Intensive Care Unit of the Aurora Medical Center, and to Dr. Andrea Carroll, Dr. Cedric Thayer, and to Jeanette Fictum, for all their special care and concern shown to Jean during her illness. Your kindness will always be remembered.
