"Jerry Ahrens, 80, of Route 1, Two Rivers, died Saturday morning in Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 2 pm Monday in Zion United Methodist Church, Mishicot. The Rev. Bernard Fetterlund will officiate and burial will be in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.
Mr. Ahrens was born June 8, 1896 in the Town of Two Rivers, son of the late John and Augusta Runge Ahrens.

"He graduated from Tannery Grade School, Washington High School, Two Rivers; Manitowoc County Normal School and River Falls College in 1919. He was a veteran of World War I. He married Helen Naser Oct. 18, 1924. They farmed at Route 1, Two Rivers since then.

"Mr. Ahrens was a longtime member and secretary of the Twin Rivers Coop of Mishicot for 25 years. He was a member and past president of the Mishicot Senior Citizens. He was a 4-H Leader for 21 years. Mr. Ahrens was a member of the Two Rivers American Legion and of the Westshore Sportsmans Club.

"Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jack of Two Rivers & Gene of Sheboygan; a daughter, Mrs. Alan (JoAnn) Groll of Algoma; three sisters, Mrs. Ed (Myrtle) Kastrosky of Two Rivers, Mrs. Milton (Cora) Mueller of Manitowoc & Mrs. George (Mildred) Walters of Spokane, Washington; and 12 grandchildren. Two brothers & a sister preceded him in death."
