MARY SHAFER ALTMAN
February 14, 1944 - July 20, 2015

Mary Shafer Altman, 71 of Hoboken, passed away early Monday morning (July 20, 2015) at Pierce County Nursing Home, following an extended illness.

Born in Waycross GA., her parents were William Hugh Shafer and Sarah Louise McQuaig Shafer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Terry Wayne Altman, Sr.; a baby girl; and her brother, Charles Hugh Shafer.

Mary was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, enjoyed her grandchildren, and Church activities, and Card Ministries.

Survivors include her four children and their spouses, Wayne Altman (Cindy), of Hoboken, Rose Cleveland (Travis), of Hoboken, Angie Altman( Adam Sapp), of Nahunta, Frannie Thomas (Kevin), of Baxley; Five Grandchildren, Justin Dixon (Allie Dance)of Hoboken, Hali West (Jeremy), of Waycross, Austin Altman, Kira Altman, of Hoboken, and Noah Thomas, of Baxley; two great grandchildren, Allison West and Jonah Dixon; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Delores Dixon, of Waycross, Joyce Hendrix (Leroy), of Blackshear, Janice Pittman (Jerry), of Hoboken, a brother and sister-in-law, Dorian Shafer (Sue), of Cabot, AR. , and also a very special pet, Smokey. Also many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening (July 21, 2015) from 6-8PM, at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday (July 22, 2015) at 4PM at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Yawn and Rev. Charles Florey officiating.
Burial will follow in High Bluff Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert Moore, Charles Harris, Joe Dixon, Rusty Lee, Marty Lee, and Larry Griffin.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
