Ryan Keith Barnes, 39, passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 17, 2015, at a local hospital. Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mount Olivet. Ryan was born Sept. 23, 1975, in Fort Worth to Gary and Diane Barnes. He was a graduate of Castleberry High School. Ryan was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed going to casinos and watching Monday night wrestling. Ryan loved to spend time with his family and friends. In his younger days he enjoyed bareback riding and chute dogging from 1991-1995. He was currently employed with the city of Haltom City in the street division. Ryan leaves his loving memories to be cherished by many. Ryan was preceded in death by his father, Gary Barnes; stepgrandfathers, James Keith "Speck" Pritchett and Ed Werner; and cousin, Joella Johnson. Survivors: Wife, Shellie Thomas; daughter, Makoy Barnes; granddaughter, Joslyn; mother, Diane Barnes; brothers, Randy and Scotty Barnes; grandmothers, Bessie Pritchett and Verdine Werner; special aunt, Sandy; nieces, Cortney (Pat) Martin and Garrah (Taylor); nephews, Clayton and Christian Barnes; in-laws, Bud and Pat Thomas, and John and Charlotte McDonald; stepson, Brandon Thomas and family; and numerous extended family members and friends.
