EDWARD WHITE DIES OF A STROKE
RETIRED FARMER’S RITES TO BE HELD SATURDAY
Edward Fremont White, 78 year old retired farmer, died Wednesday night at his home, 710 First Street of a stroke and complications after an illness of nine months.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Perryman Chapel, with the Rev. Orval E. Walker in charge. Interment will be made in Evergreen Cemetery.
A native Iowan, Mr. White lived after his marriage to Maggie Elizabeth Downing on January 21, 1891, in Missouri until 1910. He spent the next 11 years on a farm near Stennett, retiring to Red Oak in 1921.
He was born August 4, 1861 at La Porte City, Iowa, the son of Preston and Julia White.
Survivors are two sons Lowell and R. L. (Jim) White and a daughter, Mollie White, all of Red Oak; a brother Charles White of Aurora, Missouri. Five children died in infancy.
Pall bearers Saturday will be Harry Mayhew, Fred Halvin, Jay Stafford, James Good, Lish Rosberry, and Ray Adams. Music will be in charge of Mrs. Dale Petty and the flowers by Mrs. Will Butler, Mrs. Ervin Coon, and Mrs. John Freeman Jr.

C. Nelson, M. D., burial March 16, 1940 in Evergreen Cemetery. Informant was Mollie White.
Edward was a native Iowan. He was married to Maggie Elizabeth Downing on January 21, 1891. He lived in Missouri until 1910. Then he spent the next 11 years on a farm near Stennett. Retired to Red Oak in 1921.
