Vivian was born in York on October 12, 1925, a daughter of the late John Philip and Hilary (Rohrbaugh) Schwartzer.
She retired as a packer/shipper from Danskin in 1987. She was a member of the Red Lion American Legion Post Auxiliary and affiliated with Union Lutheran Church of York.
Vivian is survived by three sons, Wayne L. Gentzler and wife Penny of Dover, Allen L. Gentzler of York, Scott E. Gentzler and wife Brenda of The Villages in Florida; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Romaine Gaffney of Birmingham, Ala.; and a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Schwartzer of York. She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York. Officiating will be the Rev. Judith A. McKee. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. A viewing will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
