Loretta Victoria Martinez

Ogden – Loretta Victoria Martinez passed away April 27, 2014 at McKay Dee Hospital. She was born January 13, 1955 in Ogden the daughter of Alex B. and Flora M. Medina Gallegos. She married Anthony David Martinez on July 19, 1980 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and a faithful parishioner. She was a beautiful and amazing woman who was very family oriented and loved her grandchildren very much. She had an amazing heart and was loved by all. She will bye dearly missed.

She enjoyed fishing, camping and football (especially the 49ers). She loved family gatherings and helping those in need.

Loretta is survived by her children, Shani (Donald) Penner, Mark Lopez, Jessica Barrera (Ever), Yvette Martinez and Randy (Kali) Martinez; 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Also survived by her siblings, Victor (Caroline) Gallegos, Jake Gallegos, Lloyd (LaRue) Gallegos, Toby Gallegos, Charlie Gallegos, Cynthia Lucas, Donna (David) Alarid, Veronica (Hilario) Alvarez, Esther (Rogelio) Ruiz; mother-in-law, Jean Martinez; sisters and brothers –in-law, Linda (Paul) Sanchez, Manuel (Tina) Martinez, Charles (Sandra) Martinez, Jerry(Ellie) Martinez, Peggy Martinez, Vickie Ruiz, Susan (Simon) Trujillo and Jolene (Mario) Valencia; and many nieces and nephews who adored her. Also surviving are very special friends, the Cordova family, Kathy Omer and family and Betty Boop.

Preceded in death by her parents; her sweetheart, who passed away in 2008, Anthony; father-in-law, Leroy Martinez; sister, Carmen Martin; brothers, Robert and Arthur Gallegos; brothers-in-law, Michael Ray and Danny Martinez and her son-in-law, Alex Barrera.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 5, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 24th and Adams. A viewing will be held at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. on Sunday, May 4th from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Interment will be in the Ogden City Cemetery.
