Steven Ray Lopez, 51, of Evans, passed away on February 26, 2014. Steven was born March 10, 1962 to Frances (Serrano) Rivas and Gilbert Lopez in Greeley.

Steven grew up in Greeley and Evans before moving to Johnstown. He graduated from Roosevelt High School, Johnstown, in 1980. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1981 and served four years before being honorably discharged. Following his military service, he worked for Roche Construction then later worked in landscaping. Steven enjoyed listening to rock music, watching movies, and driving his mom's 1989 Camero. His hobbies included motorcycles, weight-lifting, playing his electric guitar, and writing poems.

Steven is survived by his mother, Frances Rivas of Evans; companion, Jenny Oley of Evans; sister, Anna Johnson (Doug) of Denver; brother, Kenny Lopez of Evans; two nieces: Brittany Lopez and Alexa Johnson; three nephews: Ryan Lopez, Brandon Johnson, and Trevor Johnson; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends. He is preceded in death by his father, and a brother, Raymond Lopez who passed away May 23, 1994.

Visitation will be held 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2014 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Inurnment Sunset Memorial Gardens.--Stoddard Funeral Home
