HOPEDALE, IL - Neva Pauline Henderson, 86, of Hopedale passed away at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at Hopedale Nursing Home.
She was born Jan. 24, 1922, to L.E. and A.M. Worthington Gresham. She married Harold "Hap" Henderson on Aug. 15, 1942, in Phenix City, Ala. He preceded her in death on April 11, 1997.
Survivors include three sons, Ronald (Shirley) Henderson of Alpha, Gale (Lucy) Henderson of Salem, Va., and Richard (Debbie) Henderson of Peoria; six grandchildren, Jeff and Cari Henderson, Matt Henderson, Lisa Winters, and Reece and Lindsay Henderson; and four great-grandchildren.
Neva worked as a secretary to the superintendent of the Olympia School System for many years.
She was a very active member of the Hopedale United Methodist Church and the Hopedale American Legion Auxiliary.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, at Hopedale United Methodist Church. Pastors Bruce Bolin Ghitalla and Pat Gareau will officiate. Visitation will be from 12 noon until time of service at the church. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in rural Hopedale.
