Mary Josephine Paine married Thomas O. Moore May 30 1859 in Shelby County TN. The Memphis Daily Appeal on April 29, 1872 reported that she died April 28, 1872, in Tipton County, after a lingering illness. She was "the beloved wife of T.O. Moore and daughter of Constantine and Ann Maria Paine, in her 30th year." Her husband, Thomas O. Moore, died on Sept 24 1876 at his residence on Big Creek, Tipton County TN. He was "in the 39th year of his age" as reported in the Memphis Daily Appeal Sept 26 1876.

According to the National Register of Historic Places the Paine family home consisted of 80 acres and was located at 1055 Evergreen, then known as Cypress Creek, and dated from about 1860. "Cape Cod Colonial Revival. Red Brick, 1.5 stories; asphalt shingle side gable roof, gable dormers; portico porch with wrought iron supports; center wood entry door with transom; paired 6/6 double-hung windows. Oldest house on original homestead of area dating to the 1860's. Belonged to the Constantine Paine family. Altered in the 1950's. Garage c. 1900. Frame with shed and gable roof. originally outbuilding, converted to garage." The house caught fire in 1996.
